Composition:

 
Each 1 ml contains:

Gentamicin sulfate equivalent to Gentamicin 3 mg
Dexamethasone 1 mg
Excipients q.s.

Indications:

 
Gentadex is used for:

• Bacterial conjunctivitis

• Keratitis

• Post-surgical ocular infections

Mechanism of Action:

 
Gentamicin: A broad-spectrum antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting protein synthesis.

Dexamethasone: A corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, swelling, and redness.

Uses:

 
Gentadex contains two active ingredients:

• Gentamicin treats bacterial infections in the eye.

• Dexamethasone reduces inflammation, redness, and swelling.

It is typically used for:

• Bacterial conjunctivitis

Important:

• Does not treat fungal or viral infections.

• Prolonged use without supervision may cause delayed wound healing or increased eye pressure (risk of glaucoma).

Typical Dosage:

 
Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye as directed by a doctor or veterinarian.

Dosage and Administration:

• Shake well before use.

• Apply 1–2 drops into the affected eye 2 to 4 times daily, or as prescribed.

• For severe cases, dosage may be increased as directed by the physician.

Warnings and Precautions:

• For ophthalmic use only.

• Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination.

• Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms.

• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma.

• Not recommended for fungal or viral eye infections.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to gentamicin, dexamethasone, or any component of the product.

• Fungal or viral infections of the eye.

Possible Side Effects:

• Temporary burning or stinging upon application

• Blurred vision

• Increased intraocular pressure

• Eye irritation or redness

• Delayed wound healing

Storage:

• Store below 25°C (77°F).

• Protect from light and freezing.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date.
